Education is Empowerment!

Near Term Goals
Social Sector Support Services (SSSS) was established in 2001 with the vision to empower the poorest of the poor through education. We believe that providing informal education that builds earning power is the key to bring about meaningful transformation in deprived communities.

Programs targeting women and young children are at the heart of our endeavour. During the last 13 years we have successfully demonstrated that with a combination of relevant education and vocational training, women not only become productive earning members of the society but also act as catalyst in transforming the social fabric of the community.
While SSSS has been active with the Ilm-O-Hunar program for the last ten years, there has been a recent 'change of guards' with respect to the program's management. In May 2014, the founder and President, Mr A K Husain, passed away. The board of directors have now been tasked with setting out a near term strategy that enables continuation of the Ilm O Hunar school in a sustainable manner. In this regard, the board has set out the following key near term goals:
-
Ensure the community continues to benefit from the program in the same spirit as it has during the last decade.
-
Introduce teacher training on a going basis.
-
Improve the classroom environment through upgrading facilities and basic infrastructure.
-
Involve professionals in relevant vocational fields to improve the quality of vocational program.
Vision
We seek a progressive, tolerant and civilized society where education and skill start at ‘home’ and form the basis of a dignified and empowered existence for all. SSSS will be a dedicated agent of change, committed to the cause of transforming poorest of the poor into productive and self-reliant members of the society.
Program Objectives
SSSS strives to engage the local community to acheive the following objectives through it's ongoing programs.
